A rather foggy start to our ride with a cool 6.5c temperature, we headed off on the Federal Highway the sun did manage to break through for about five minutes during the journey to Lake George and did clear by the time we reached the Collector turn off. We continued to Bredalbane village then onto the Old Barton Highway. The old road is slowly deteriorating with large pot holes appearing but, to my surprise we did pass a Council crew patching some of the more dangerous ones.

The group stopped at our usual Gunning stop, the ‘Old Hume Highway Café’. A pleasant time was had by all with the usual good food and enjoyable conversation. The weather cleared up to a nice sunny day for our return journey. I had to be back home to pick my grandson up from school, so we left around 1.00pm.

Our ride home was via Gundaroo and Sutton, the new bridge works just outside Gunning is progressing well with half of the road span beams now laid and remaining beams now delivered on site ready for installation. The group travelled 175km and home by about 2.15pm.
