Rally point: 10.00am from the Shell Fuel Station at EPIC

It was another drab winters day as a few of us left to make our way to the rallying point and it started to rain, clearing when we arrived.

Denis arrived on his new bike which he had struck a good deal on last year’s model at Eurotune. A great bike for touring purposes, and voted best bike in Germany recently.

I notice when writing this report a week later. How time fly’s when you’re having fun and retired. John Broad had a wishful moment when he wrote in the Roll Call book his mount as being a 916 Ducati. Not sure if it was red or he’s in need of another fix at Phillip Island again this year? Is it on your wish list for Christmas, John?

Because of the threatening weather a shorter ride was decided by all, when we left another shower commenced. We headed off up the Federal Highway with Denis leading the way on his new Triumph Sprint, turning left onto Chingle Hill Way leading to Bungendore Road. We then turned Right at Sutton Road then left onto Murrumbateman Road and left again at Nanima Road. Graham took over the lead and again more rain on this last leg of the route. Then left onto the Barton Highway, stopping at Gold Creek Village for lunch at Luv-a- cuppa café (shame about the name but, the food is good). After a most enjoyable lunch we made our own way home. Total distance back to the Rally Point was 95km.
