Well, today’s weather was diabolical, overcast with high winds and a temperature of 6c. What a change from last week’s pleasant riding conditions. Three of our usual members were unable to ride with us this week, so our numbers were down a bit.

In view of the weather conditions it was an unanimous decision to keep our ride short. When the going gets tough, the tough get going or the foolish? Peter headed the group off along the Federal Highway turning off at the Sutton junction and through Sutton Village turning right at Chingle Hill Way, crossing the Federal Highway again and left onto Bungendore Road. We incurred road resurfacing works a few kilometres after turning onto Bungendore Road, so keep an eye out for the next few weeks if you’re going that way.

We arrived at our usual establishment, Logan’s Café after covering 54km in trying conditions. A good time was had enjoying the warming drinks, food and light hearted conversation.

Lorraine & Peter discussed the proposed Spring Road Trip (North) which is being organised commencing 27 September for five or six days duration. Where possible keeping off the main highways. If any member is interested in joining the trip, please contact either Lorraine or Peter.

Stan finally received the tickets for the Motorcycle Grand Prix at Phillip Island, which he had paid for earlier this year. He distributed the tickets to the happy group of attendees. Graham Seary (Ernie’s son) has organised accommodation in a rented house so, no camping this year. Roll on the 14 October for our get away trip.

We headed off at 12.30pm with the weather conditions deteriorating and the wind speed increasing, the temperature was now only 7 c. Three of us went back via the Kings Highway. The cross winds were very challenging, trying to keep a straight line and the bikes upright.

On my arrival home, ACTEW was working on the power lines in an adjacent street, and I had no power at home so, I had a trip to the local shops for a warming hot chocolate drink after an interesting and cold trip home.

Another week without any record photography, I forgot to take the camera with me this week, my apologies to the group and club.
