Well, yet again BMW won the biggest numbers award, followed by Triumph. What is it about BMWs that they wont lie down and rust away peacefully like the others?

Today's ride of some 180klms took us from the EPIC ex-servo up the Kings Highway to Collector, left on to Breadalbane and the old Hume Highway, Gunning and its Old Hume Cafe, and back via Gundaroo and Sutton before splitting up at the Kings Highway overpass to our respective north, south, east or west homebases.

The forecast indicated the possibility of a shower and the ride started into the face of gusty winds and ominous clouds. This resulted in a stop along the Kings Highway to don wet weather over-gear, or in the case of PJ ( no wet gear), an about face turn and a skulk off home with the wind at his tail.

Mind you that was after PJ set the ride agenda for the following Wednesday. See later in this report. Check the forecast and dont forget your wet gear next week mate.

As it turned out, which is so often the case, the showers were so scattered that our ride just brushed the edges and for those who wished, splashed through the puddles of preceding showers. As we were about to leave Gunning it again looked promising for the farmers but no, a great clear ride home and no more fresh grass shoots for Phil's Alpacas. Even the wind behaved itself. So it was a good day afterall.

Mishaps? Well nothing much really unless you consider it worth mentioning the wind blowing open Len's gearsack and running off with some of its contents. Being the absolute gentlemen that they are, Floyd and Phil turned around and helped Len find his lost contents. While the rest of us continued blythly on our way planning our afternoons.

Now hear this!! For Next wednesday.
(a regular route of the Ulysses "Usual Suspects")
Meet up at Bardy's at Bungendore for a 10 sharp departure. ie get there before 10 and even earlier if to smile at the Bardy birds to get you a coffee. Get nature attended to also if need be as the next stop will be Braidwood. Late sleepers might catch us there. From Braidwood its to reassemble at Nelligen Steam Packet car park prior to Bateman's Bay. We could check out the motorbike shop and help PJ who wants to buy a luminous tangarine riding jacket. Lunch could well be at Batehaven in the Park across from the shops. There is a good bakery there. Or BYO. Avoid the fish and chips shops.
The ride back will have reassemby at Braidwood and coffee stop at Bungendore from where each to his own direction.
