Most popular brand award shared by Yamaha and Honda

An item of good news before the start of the ride was that the number of Corroboree Frogs in the group was about to increase from 2 last Wednesday, as a result of an internet order placed during the week past. Though only one of these rare species was visible on the ride today - check the photos below and you will be able to spot it

Starting from the Epic ex-servo as usual, the route (proposed by our long term grand master JB) was Macs Reef Road, Bungendore Road, Bungendore, Tarago, Braidwood Road, Kings Highway, Bungendore, Logan's Cafe and home via Bungendore Road with the majority turning into Norton Road, Sutton Road and then through Oakes Estate. About 180klms were covered. An alternative to the Bowning Rollonin amongst the frilly lizards was a difficult one to pass up.

The highlight of the ride was the non-appearance but inclusion on the ride list submitted for this report of a ghost rider on a Manx Norton. The name submitted has been suppressed out of concern to show respect. It is said he was actually sitting in the high chair shown in the other photo below and had ordered the unclaimed flat white coffee brought to the table at Logan's. Further details may be sought from Ernie Serious.

Overall a most friendly and delightful ride in ideal weather conditions. The ride leaders JB and SP kept up a cracking pace on their old Yamahas non-stop all the way to Logan's, achieving entry level certification for that other more skilled Wednesday ride group. No doubt this was as a result of a fire breathing Manx on their tail, and the elation of sharing the most popular brand award, beating BMW for once.
